We at Simpson’s Hardware  would like to thank you for your letter and the information you have provided us about your grass trimmer of 15 years. According to your knowledge you stated that there is a lifetime warranty to your product. However, due to company records we have discovered that your item has a one year warranty instead of a lifetime warranty. In the future we hope to communicate this better to customers and we would like to thank you for sharing this lack of communication with us. Furthermore, due to the age of your product and our constant new models which we have to make room for we do not carry the gas cap which you are requesting.We would be more than happy to order a new one from a supplier and have it shipped to you at a cost of $17.65 plus $5 shipping and handling at a grand total of $22.65. If you have any further questions we would be more than happy to answer them.If you are interested in buying a newer model you can go to go simpsons.com and hopefully with proper care your grass trimmer will be able to last for years to come.
